In my current practice in psychiatry, I evaluate and treat adolescents and adults with various mental health and substance use disorders. My areas of research interest are adolescent addictions, cannabis use, and vaping. I have the experience of working in large research teams, in conducting rigorous clinical trials for opioid and psychostimulant use disorders. I am the Principal Investigator of the NIDA/AACAP grant awarded to identify gaps in medical education on opioid use disorders and to develop intervention strategies to help train future physicians. Over the last 10 years, I have focused a substantial part of my research efforts and clinical skills to studying and improving treatment of substance use disorders. My role as a collaborator on various research projects, mentoring fellows, residents, and medical students have prepared me to serve as a leader and a collaborator in mental health and addiction research.
