UAMS is launching an exciting program called 1-2-3 GO (1-2-3 Grant Opportunity) to enable rapid distribution of crucial seed funding for innovative, new, multidisciplinary research collaborations.
1-2-3 GO will shortcut the conventional grant review process, which can be too big of a hurdle for a new team of investigators with a great idea but no preliminary data. Importantly, 1-2-3 GO will create new opportunities for the next generation of researchers to experience multidisciplinary, collaborative research.

The program will also provide opportunities for donors and industry partners to leverage the creativity of our researchers and to support research that aligns with their interest. Contributors (and anyone) can check the return on investment on the 1-2-3 GO web site, which will track accomplishments such as presentations, publications, patents, licenses, additional grant funding, etc. arising from each funded 1-2-3 GO project.
This program is as simple as 1-2-3 go. In Step 1, a UAMS faculty member proposes a project on the 1-2-3 GO website. Step 2 is building a team of three investigators from at least two different units such as COM departments or divisions, UAMS colleges, or UA system campuses. Step 3 is selection for funding, which will occur at an annual event and will be subject to available funds.
